Memorial Day

Thinking about those who gave everything they had for our freedom. Thank you to those who’ve survived, and to those who continue to fight.

My father was in WWII.  He was a sargent in the army, and spent a lot of time in the pacific.

Please feel free to share your memories and experiences.

Very best wishes to all,

David

David: We should never forget our ancestors who fought for our country. That is great that you told us about your father. My father also served in WW2 and participated in the Berlin airlift. These men are real American heroes. Thanks for sharing that about your father. I have one question-did your father(Howard) ever do any oil paintings? Thank you very much.Ken

      Hi Ken,
To answer your question, Howard was never really into painting. In 2004 I bought him a paint set and tried to get him into it, but no luck. I think it was a little too slow for him and he became bored. Re your father and the Berlin airlift; I believe that was the largest organized rescue campaign ever. They saved nearly 3 million people from starvation. It’s an amazing story.
